Key Assets NSW launches a new foster care service in the Hunter Central Coast Region
Key Assets – The Children’s Services Provider celebrated another significant milestone recently with the launch of a new foster care service in the Hunter Central Coast region. Following the successful application for funding to Community Services NSW Key Assets was awarded a contract to provide general foster care services. The service was launched at Noah’s on the Beach with a public information event which was well attended by existing foster carers, members of the public, colleagues from other out of home care organisations as well as prospective employees.
The agency is pleased to announce the appointment of Caroline De Lyall as the manager responsible for leading the newly established team of Social Workers and Youth Workers. Caroline is a qualified social worker and an experienced manager in foster care.
Caroline was delighted to welcome her colleagues from Sydney to the new temporary office in Wallsend. Caroline said “I am looking forward to facilitating our first foster carer preparation training this weekend and to meeting existing Community Services carers thinking of transferring over to us”
Key Assets will also reach another milestone this year in celebrating 20 years of providing foster care services in 12 countries worldwide
Jamie Hodgson, Operations Manager NSW said “This is an exciting time in our development as we continue to build new services in partnership with Community Services NSW. We have already started to recruit new foster carers and we are also currently in discussion with our colleagues in Community Services regarding the arrangements to transfer existing foster carers and children placed with them over the coming weeks.
In preparation for the authorisation of new and transferring carers the team have been busy recruiting additional staff and contractors to help build the service.
