Fostering, Are you ready for the journey…?
Key Assets in partnership with Go Transit is on the road raising awareness about the need for more foster carers, particularly for children over the age of 7 years. Our Bus, part of the Park RidgeTransit fleet has been colourfully wrapped to say “Fostering …are you ready for the journey”.
Melissa Hayes, Foster Care Recruitment Manager, & Theresa Gee, Recruitment Officer said that ‘there is a desperate shortage of carers in Queensland and particularly in the Brisbane region of the State. We wanted to have a visual message which is constant because we know that it often takes a few ‘reminders’ before members of the public pick up the phone or send off an email to pursue their interest in fostering. We hope that this ‘visual aide’ will prompt people to think about whether they have the time, energy and positive outlook to provide a supportive and caring environment for a child or young person.
Key Assets is keen to hear from people interested in fostering interested in caring for children over the age of 7 years and if you see the bus around the suburbs or the city give the driver a wave in support of fostering in Queensland!
