Thinking of fostering?

You can offer a vulnerable young person the kind of support and love they so badly need. Many young people who need foster care have complex needs. It’s a demanding job looking after them, but Key Assets are there to support you, as well as the young person in your care. You can make a lasting difference to a young person’s life. What’s more, when you foster with us, you’ll receive a generous financial allowance, 24/7 support and fantastic opportunities for training. So go on, speak to us about fostering today.

Thinking of Fostering

  • This field is for validation purposes and should be left unchanged.

At Key Assets, we celebrate diversity and welcome carers from all walks of life. In terms of must-haves. there are only three. You need to:

  • be over the age of 25
  • have a spare bedroom
  • be available to foster full time.

We offer our carers a generous financial package. Our payments cover the costs of caring for a young person, and enable our carers to commit to a full-time basis. Better still, they begin from the moment a young person is placed in your care.

There are six stages in becoming foster carers, and we’ll support you every step of the way.

  1. Fill in our short enquiry form or call us on 1800 WE CARE. We’ll chat to you about fostering and send you an information pack.
  2. We’ll visit you at home to find out more about you and your family.
  3. After asking you to complete an application form, we’ll carry out some mandatory checks on you and your home.
  4. We’ll invite you to attend some training to help you find out more about fostering.
  5. Your dedicated social worker will complete an assessment report on you and your family.
  6. We’ll present your completed assessment to a fostering panel. The panel will help us make a final decision about whether or not you can be approved as a foster carer.

Ready to take the first step? Complete the enquiry form on the right and we’ll get back to you.

Find out from the people who do it every day. Our carer stories will give you an insight into who we are, what we do and what you can expect when you join us.
