Sherelle Hess-Cramp - Team Manager

In 1997 I qualified as a Social Worker and have felt passionate about what I do ever since.

I started out with Child Protection in Victoria and spent the next five years learning all I could about how to work with vulnerable families and young people.

I then moved to Child Protection in Essex, England where my eyes were further opened to the needs of families. I also worked as an Independent Assessor for the Family Court which increased my understanding of evidence based practice.

The value of well supported foster care had become increasingly obvious to me whilst working in Child Protection and I wanted to be a part of making a better future for young people who had been removed from their birth family.

On returning to Australia I moved to Queensland and joined a non-government foster care agency that supported young people with complex needs. This was a great experience and further highlighted to me the importance of quality practice and establishing good relationships with all stakeholders.

I had heard that Key Assets was establishing a service in Queensland and was impressed by the framework of practice, so am very happy to have the opportunity to join the team and promote our child and carer focused model of fostering here in Queensland.
