Our Approach to Foster Care in Queensland

Key Assets offers high quality foster care placements and related support services to help children and young people who are in out of home care to achieve their full potential and to live fulfilling lives in the community.

We work in partnership with the Department of Communities (Child Safety Services) in Queensland to provide alternative care services that meet a wide range of needs, including those of children and young people with complex histories who may make considerable demands upon their foster carers.

Our approach to the foster carer

The name ‘Key Assets’ reflects our belief that foster carers are the agents of change for children in out of home care and, therefore, each of our foster carers is a ‘key asset’. We believe children are our tomorrow and that our foster carers have the opportunity to cherish them and help them to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy life and achieve their goals.

All adults have a positive contribution to make in encouraging children to achieve their potential. In doing so, we believe our foster carers can encourage a child’s or young person’s strength and resilience to grow.

Foster care with Key Assets

As a part of the Core Assets Group, Key Assets has a combined experience of supporting foster carers and children and young people for over 16 years. Our services are based on the unique Team Parenting™ approach; a transcultural approach to supporting foster carers and young people in different jurisdictions around the world.
