As a non-government fostering agency operating in South Australia, Key Assets Fostering works in partnership with the Department for Families and Communities to provide foster care placements for children and young people in out of home care.
What we do
As a non-government fostering agency operating in South Australia, we take referral from the Department for children and young people for a range of children and young people, including those with high and complex needs.
- When a child or young person is referred to Key Assets Fostering for a foster care placement, it is often due to challenging behaviours as a result of early life difficulties such as trauma, neglect or abuse.
- We recruit foster carers who can offer a safe and stable home environment and opportunities for positive growth and brighter futures.
- As a non-government fostering agency, Key Assets Fostering provides all our foster carers with fostering payments as well as comprehensive foster carer support and foster carer training to help them in the fostering task.
Working with the Department for Families and Communities
The Department for Families and Communities is the government body in South Australia who retain the legal responsibility for foster children.
Key Assets Fostering works in partnership with this body to provide foster care in South Australia. We also work with a number of divisions within the Department, including Contracts and Licensing, the Placement Service Unit, and Families SA.
Through our partnership with the Department, we also attend regular meetings as a member of the Child and Family Welfare Association (CAFWA) and Joint Partnership, made up of a number of non-government agencies in South Australia who work together to improve and promote foster care.
