The children referred to us are usually between 5 and 17 years old. Many have significant emotional disturbance, mental health issues, educational concerns, disrupted attachment and are often the victims of distressing circumstances.
Some of the children and young people in foster care in South Australia lack the fundamental experience of positive interactive relationships and secure early attachments, which are essential for the development of their mental health, resilience and the building of trust in others.
We offer these children and young people a stable foster care placement with the necessary network of professional support services delivered to the child and the carer in order to achieve a positive outcome from the placement.
