At Key Assets, the children we foster often have high and complex needs as a result of earlier life difficulties.
The children referred for foster care placements with us range from 5 to 17 years old. Many foster children have significant emotional issues, educational concerns, disrupted attachment and can be the victims of distressing circumstances.
Some children we foster lack the fundamental experience of positive interactive relationships and secure early attachments, which are essential for the development of their mental health, resilience and the building of trust in others. These children are likely to make considerable demands on their foster carers.
Our foster carer support workers help our carers encourage the children we foster to achieve their full potential. Our specialist placements provide children and young people in foster care with opportunities for positive growth and a brighter future.
The Charter of Rights for Children and Young People in Care states simply and clearly the rights of children and young people who are under the guardianship or in the custody of the Minister for Education and Child Development. To read the Charter, click here.
If you have experience with working with children or experience with foster care in South Australia, or if you feel you have the qualities to offer a safe and stable home, speak to us today. We are looking for foster carers who are dedicated to making a positive and lasting difference to the lives of these children and young people in foster care.
