Key Assets is part of the Core Assets Group, an international organisation which provides an extensive portfolio of social care services including foster care, for children and young people.
Core Assets was founded in 1994 through Foster Care Associates. Social Worker, Jim Cockburn, and foster carer, Jan Rees, formed a unique vision of delivering high quality care in a family setting through an unparalleled level of holistic support services and intensive training delivered to the carer and the child.
As Executive Director and Non-Executive Director of Core Assets, Jim Cockburn and Jan Rees remain hands-on in their roles, ensuring the welfare of children is at the centre of everything we do as an organisation.
“Having been a foster carer myself, I know that fostering can be a life changing experience. My own experiences inspired me to set up Foster Care Associates, some 18 years ago. Since then, I have admired the work of foster carers from all walks of life who have helped bring about positive change to the lives of many looked after children.
“If Key Assets is to shape a better future for fostered children, it must continue to provide a quality service that recognises the challenges faced by its foster carers. Support and training are vital in ensuring all our foster carers are properly equipped to deal with the fostering task.
“This will allow us to continue to improve outcomes for children and young people in our care. I hope that this website will encourage readers to consider becoming a foster carer and experience all the rewards that come with it.”
