Fostering payments

Whenever a foster carer has a child or young person placed with them, they receive a fostering payment as a recognition and reward for their commitment to the fostering role.

Foster carers with Key Assets Fostering receive a fostering payment in line with the needs of the individual child or young person placed. The Department for Child Protection that refers children and young people determines the levels of care necessary for each referral and the fostering payment is adjusted accordingly.

Payments for full time fostering

At Key Assets Fostering, we view foster care as a career and fostering payments enable each of our carers to commit to this career on a full time basis. It is our goal to achieve the promotion of foster care as a profession for which foster carers should be paid competitively.

The weekly fostering payments you receive for each child fostered should cover all living costs, such as:

  • Food
  • Clothing
  • Basic travel
  • Contribution to household bills
  • Children’s pocket money
  • Regular recreational activities
  • Birthday and Christmas gifts

Please note that the fostering payments you would receive are subject to certain conditions. For more information or to register your interest in fostering with us, call Key Assets Fostering today on (08) 9431 9300 or enquire online.
