Are you considering a career in foster care in Western Australia (WA)?
Key Assets Fostering specialises in providing foster care placements for children with high and complex needs in WA. We are recruiting foster carers in Perth, surrounding areas, and some country areas, to work with our network of carers and support staff, providing foster care placements for children and young people with complex needs and difficult behaviours.
The number of children coming into foster care in WA is increasing all the time. As a consequence of trauma, neglect or rejection, many of these children exhibit difficult or challenging behaviour such as tantrums, withdrawal, aggression, clinginess, rejection or over-compliance.
Other foster children referred to us act older or younger than their years or, as a result of multiple placement breakdowns, can be unsure of how to act or who to trust.
Many of the children and young people who are referred to Key Assets Fostering in WA require ‘high needs’ foster care placements as a result of these challenging behaviours.
Key Assets Fostering works in partnership with the Department for Child Protection in WA to provide safe and supportive foster care placements for children and young people who may have high and complex needs or exhibit difficult behaviour.
We are looking for people who can offer foster care in WA to these children and young people. If you have experience with foster care in WA, if you’ve worked with children or young people with disabilities or complex needs or even if you have no related experience but believe you have the qualities we need, please contact us for more information.
Key Assets Fostering appreciates that the foster carer is central to the success of foster care placements in WA. For this reason, we offer a wide range of foster carer support services and training opportunities; to ensure the best outcomes for our children and young people in foster care, and to promote the wellbeing of our WA foster carers.
We are always looking for people interested in foster care in WA who can help us place the increasing number of children in out of home care. If you think you could become a foster carer, call Key Assets Fostering today on (08) 9431 9300 or enquire online.
