As a non-government fostering agency in Western Australia, Key Assets works closely with the Department for Child Protection (DCP) to provide fostering placements.
At Key Assets, we can approve our own foster carers; however the referrals come from the DCP who ultimately have statutory responsibility for the child. We train and support our foster carers, the fostering family, and the children and young people in placement.
All placements of children and young people with Key Assets are made and monitored in accordance with the out of home care standards and regulations of the agency and the Department for Child Protection.
The demand for fostering outstrips the ability for the DCP to provide this service. Non-government fostering agencies such as Key Assets work in partnership with them to fill the gap.
At Key Assets, we have our own staff to ensure that the needs of the carers and children are serviced to the highest possible standard. Key Assets works closely with the DCP to support our foster carers and the children placed with them.
