We offer a number of services for children and young people living with disability. We work with all kinds of people. We specialise in supporting individuals who may have experienced childhood trauma – some live with their biological family, some with foster carers, and others live independently. But our particular strengths are is in help supporting children or young people who have been in care overcome trauma and abuse.
We believe the most effective services are the ones designed to give highly individual care to people. A strong focus on family and experience in working with children and young people helps us do this. And we work in this flexible, personal way right from referral.
Leaving care planning for young people with disabilities
Our social workers work with the young person leaving care, as well as individuals and other professionals, to find out what they need. Working as a team helps us match with the right supports, like support workers and ability carers.
Our expert team work together to help children and young people fulfil their aspirations and achieve their goals.
We fully assess, train and support our foster carers and ability carers before matching them with an individual requiring a care arrangement.
We match each child or young person individual to a support worker who has the right skills and attributes for what they need. We consider the child or young person’s aspirations and goals. Then we support them from where they live and in the community.
